MY PERSONAL POST ABOUT VITAMIN C SKINCARE
I have to be honest – I have always had great skin – and I know that I need to thank my Mom for that (I would if she was here but sadly I lost her a very long time ago). Last year I turned the BIG 50 and I noticed hyper-pigmentation around my eyes and on the sides of my mouth.
Also my skin just seemed dull – okay maybe I was older but there weren’t many more wrinkles (a few), my skin just seemed to lose its vitality. And after some research and extensive reading on Vitamin C – this is why I started using it:
Vitamin C is widely known for its antioxidant benefits for your body but also your skin, brilliantly boosting collagen while helping to treat UV exposure photo-damage,” says Dr Dennis Gross, the New York-based dermatologist. Adding to that, the cult ingredient will also boost skin’s luminosity and smooth skin tone – so it really is a skincare hero.
And seriously I felt that my skin needed a hero…..and it has been a year now and all the pigmentation has gone!
So how does it work? And what did it do?
L-ascorbic acid boosts collagen production and smooths and firms skin, as well as fending off photo-ageing. However, any type of vitamin C in your moisturizing serum and lotion will offer some skin benefit. And honestly, it did smooth my skin – all the bumps are gone as well as the roughness.
Lynette from Pink and Purple Dots did a fabulous review on these products. Here are some of the screenshots – but you can definitely read more on her blog post.
My last graphic I saw recently was that Vitamin C also aided with weight loss – has anyone experienced this effect? Can you let me know? I wonder how that works?
Oops nearly forgot the link to Lynette’s amazing post: Current Skincare Routine
