The Ordinary Caffeine Solution
The Ordinary Caffeine Solution (EGCG) can reduce puffiness around the eyes as well as dark circles – has been described as a must have miracle for tired eyes.
Everything about this serum is light. The clear liquid has a barely-there tint, and just slightly more viscosity than water. This means it spreads easily over the eye area and is absorbed very quickly. It dries enough to apply other products on top of it almost immediately, so it doesn’t slow down or take more time than necessary.
This caffeine solution from the Ordinary is a highly concentration solution containing 5% caffeine and green tea and can be used in the morning and the night.
Caffeine helps with under-eye bags because it increases skin circulation and might even dissolve fat under the skin (one reason it’s often included in products formulated to reduce cellulite). However, it’s worth noting that these anti-puffiness effects aren’t long term solutions.
EGCG, AKA epigallocatechin gallate glucoside, is the other star ingredient, here. It’s made from green tea leaves and has soothing and anti-aging properties. It also protects the skin from environmental stressors.
Lastly, this serum is free of alcohol, oil, silicones, nuts, and gluten, and is vegan and cruelty-free.
How the Ordinary Caffeine Solution Works?
If you have dark circles caused by pigmentation this solution might work for you. If your eyes are puffy due to lack of sleep or stress this solution also might work for you. However if your skin under your eyes is thin and a bit sunken/ hollow this solution might not work for you. This is just something to bear in mind – the success of this product depends on the reason(s) for those under eye circles.
About the Ordinary brand
This range is cruelty free and has been on the list of cruelty free products which you can find written by Cruelty Free Kitty. It is made in Canada, it is affordable and of high quality. It has a clinical scientific approach to skincare which I like – focusing on single ingredients and targeting single skin problems.
