Makeup or Fake Makeup it is always YOUR choice!

I am  sure from the title fake makeup, you know I am about to get REAL!

As a makeup artist I have worked with and seen many brands come and go out of my kit and I am proud to say, they have all been legit brands and quality products. For many years now, the beauty industry has seen the rise of fake cosmetics. Not dupes, but FAKE/counterfeit cosmetics.

For example, a brand comes out with a palette and some factory starts mass producing these palettes to make them LOOK exactly the same as the original. Now for many people, knowing what ingredients are in the lipsticks, eyeshadows and foundations that they use, is not important. Well my dear readers, I am here to tell you that it IS!

Those counterfeit products people sell for either ridiculously cheap at events and markets are laced with crazy ingredients that should make you think twice about putting that on your face. Things like Mercury, lead, arsenic, cyanide and even human urine and rat droppings are often found in counterfeit cosmetics. The level of toxins in some of these products have caused severe allergic reactions such as skin rashes and burns, as seen in the images we pulled from our google search. These are REAL people with REAL reactions!

Myself and Emma went on a little field test one time at an event and I swatched a fake lipstick from an internationally famous brand and BOOM. Rash. I swatched a highlighter and BAM, rash. Emma, who is highly allergic to makeup besides hean, took a swatch of the world’s chalkiest highlighter on the inside of her arm and quickly regretted it. We both had fine itchy bumps that were starting to come up. So moral of the story is, do not waste your money on FAKE makeup and skincare.

Think about your health and not how pretty the packaging is on that fake lipstick and it really looks like the real thing. But you know in your heart that it can’t be because the real thing costs way too much money right?

Another thing to consider as a makeup artist is if my client does have an allergic reaction – this is not only bad for them but for me. That is why it is so important for me to know that the products I have in my kit are hypoallergenic and safe to use. My favorite product from the Hean range is the skin mix concealer and of course the Fixer Spray.

I hope you learnt something from this, and please pass it along to friends and family. like they say, glowing skin is always in!

Happy Days
